Menuju Forum KafeMotor Yang Lebih Baik September 5, 2007

Kebutuhan para pengunjung KafeMotor mengenai sistem forum yang lebih baik bukan tidak dipikirkan oleh Bro Ilham sebagai pemilik blog ini. Memang KafeMotor yang saat ini Anda sekalian baca merupakan sebuah blog yang memiliki keterbatasan fitur apabila dibandingkan dengan situs lain yang menggunakan mesin forum. Melihat animo dan antusiasme para pengunjung KafeMotor yang sangat tinggi, blog ini akan dikembangkan menjadi sebuah forum. Terlebih dengan keinginan teman-teman semua untuk membangun sebuah komunitas. Komunitas KafeMotor yang eksis di darat dengan kegiatan-kegiatan nyatanya dan eksis di dunia maya dengan forumnya.
Oleh karena itu, sudah saatnya rahasia ini kami buka. KafeMotor telah memiliki sebuah domain, yaitu kafemotor.org. Saya telah membelinya untuk komunitas ini beberapa bulan yang lalu. Hosting berkapasitas 10GB dengan bandwidth tidak terbatas juga sudah disewa untuk setahun sejak 4 bulan yang lalu. Sewa hosting dibayar sendiri oleh Bro Ilham walaupun proses sewanya melalui saya. Yang diperlukan untuk membuat forum KafeMotor dengan domain KafeMotor.org tersebut dapat segera online adalah mesin untuk forum (forum engine). Saya sejak awal mengusulkan kepada Bro Ilham agar menggunakan phpBB saja. Namun, agar mesin forum lebih handal dan powerful, vBulletin menjadi pilihan utama. vBulletin adalah sebuah mesin forum berlisensi dan untuk meminangnya harus dikeluarkan duit Paman Sam sebesar USD160.
Blog ini rela untuk dikembangkan menjadi sebuah forum komunitas. Domain dan hosting sudah ada. Hanya mesin forum yang kurang. Secara jujur saya mengetuk teman-teman semua untuk bisa patungan membeli lisensi vBulletin. Dengan USD 160 kita akan mendapatkan lifetime license. Sebenarnya kita bisa menggunakan vBulletin dengan USD 80 yaitu dengan sewa setahun tetapi saya pikir secara operasional akan memerlukan dana lebih besar. Membeli lifetime license akan menghemat biaya operasional karena kita tinggal memikirkan perpanjangan domain dan hosting saja tanpa ribut memperpanjang sewa lisensi mesin forum.
Rencananya pada Gathering II hari Minggu tanggal 9 September 2007 nanti akan diedarkan kotak untuk mengumpulkan partisipasi teman-teman semua untuk membeli lisensi vBulletin. Ini kalau Bro Dede Alpine bisa segera kami kontak untuk penentuan lokasinya. Acara Gathering II sendiri diharapkan bisa dilaksanakan mulai pukul 10:00 WIB dan diakhiri paling lambat pukul 16:00 WIB. Namun, apabila Bro Dede Alpine belum berhasil dikontak sampai Kamis (6 September 2007), Gathering II akan dilangsungkan pada 16 September 2007 dengan diakhiri buka puasa bersama dan nonton bareng siaran langsung motoGP Estoril, Portugal. Tempat akan diinformasikan kemudian.
Mari kita berharap agar Gathering II dapat dilaksanakan sesuai rencana awal yaitu Minggu, 9 September 2007 karena Bro Ilham sudah konfirmasi supaya Gathering II tetap dilaksanakan sesuai rencana. Yang di Bogor mohon bantuan agar membuka kepada umum tempat yang sudah dipilih dan sekalian memesannya. Saya usul BS-BS saja. Kami biasa melakukan kopi darat di kafe dengan skema pembayaran BS-BS. Lebih fleksible dan bisa memilih menu sesuai selera.
Untuk teman-teman yang tidak dapat mengikuti Gathering, nomor rekening akan diinformasikan sehingga teman-teman juga dapat berpartisipasi bersama untuk mengembangkan blog ini menjadi sebuah forum untuk komunitas KafeMotor. Dengan mesin forum, diskusi akan lebih mudah dan sudah pasti semua yang bisa bertukar pikiran harus menjadi member. Anonym tidak bisa masuk sehingga isi diskusi akan lebih berkualitas atau minimal memperhatikan netiket.
